Quigley was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii.\u00a0Her father is of\u00a0Irish\u00a0and\u00a0Polish\u00a0descent\u00a0and her mother is a\u00a0Vietnamese\u00a0immigrant.\u00a0Her parents met while her father was stationed in\u00a0Vietnam\u00a0during the\u00a0Vietnam War.\u00a0Q grew up with four siblings.<\/p>\n
Q attended Mililani Waena Elementary School and Wheeler Intermediate School. She then attended\u00a0Mililani High School, where she was on the cross country, track and field, and swim teams. She won the title of “Best Body” senior year, and graduated from Mililani High School in 1997.<\/p>\n
At the suggestion of a friend, Q began modeling in\u00a0Tokyo<\/a>\u00a0at the age of 17, before making an unsuccessful move to\u00a0Taipei, and finally trying in\u00a0Hong Kong.\u00a0She has said it was not easy for her: “I had twenty bucks in my pocket. I mean, I literally did the same thing that my mother did when she left Vietnam… didn’t speak the language… had no money.<\/sup><\/p>\n In 1998,\u00a0she started her acting career in the TV drama\u00a0House of the Dragon<\/i>, which was a huge hit in Asia. In 2000, Q made her film debut as Anna in the horror film\u00a0Model from Hell<\/i>, and went on to star as an FBI agent Jane Quigley in the action thriller\u00a0Gen-Y Cops<\/i>the same year. Her appearance in\u00a0Gen-Y Cops<\/i>\u00a0impressed\u00a0Jackie Chan\u00a0so much that she was cast in\u00a0Manhattan Midnight<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0Rush Hour 2<\/i>.<\/p>\n In 2008, Q played fictional Cao Ying, a granddaughter of the warlord\u00a0Cao Cao<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon<\/i>, her first ancient Chinese costume performance. That same year, she also appeared in the drama\/thriller movie\u00a0Deception<\/i>\u00a0starring\u00a0Ewan McGregor\u00a0and\u00a0Hugh Jackman, as Tina, an investment banker[13]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0who introduced Jackman’s character to an exclusive anonymous sex club list.<\/p>\n Q also stars in the video game\u00a0Need for Speed: Undercover<\/i>\u00a0as the seductive lead character, federal agent Chase Linh, who is the player’s only contact to the Tri-City Police.<\/p>\n1998\u20132009: Start of acting career<\/span><\/h3>\n
